Vol. 235 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Survey of Dublin Buildings.

34.

asked the Minister for Local Government when the survey of Hollyfield and Mount-pleasant Buildings, Dublin, mentioned by him in a reply of 18th June will be completed; and the purpose of the survey.

I understand from Dublin Corporation that this survey is expected to be completed shortly. The purpose of the survey is given in my reply to the Deputy's Question No. 31 of 18th June, 1968.

Would the Minister not think it more important to recommend to Dublin Corporation that they provide electricity in these flats, which belong to them? Only 24 tenants are involved and it would be a good idea if electricity could be provided for them.

It cannot be done without a survey.

Is the Minister aware that the corporation are trying to charge the tenants of these flats for the wiring of the flats, which belong to Dublin Corporation?

That is a different question.

I asked what was the purpose of the survey.

The purpose is as was explained to the Deputy last week.

The purpose is just plain eyewash.
