asked the Minister for Local Government the total number of non-purchase houses being built by Dublin Corporation in 1968; and where they will be located.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Non-Purchase Houses.
I am informed by Dublin Corporation that the total number of dwellings, intended for renting which were under construction by Dublin Corporation on 31st May last was 2,134 located as follows:—
Coolock/Kilmore |
655 |
Constitution Hill |
30 |
Brookwood Avenue |
62 |
Georges Place |
60 |
Powerscourt |
32 |
Charlemont Street |
168 |
Ballymun |
1,127 |
I understand from the corporation that they hope to have work commenced before the end of 1968 on the erection of approximately 200 dwellings in the Kilbarrack East housing area; on an extension of the Ballymun housing project and on a further 1,000 approximately dwellings on various other sites in the city.
I have called Question No. 40.
Did I hear the Minister correctly when he said they were housing people in Constitution Hill? Are they not flats?
Flats are dwellings.
I asked for houses.
The Deputy got a bit more than he asked for: he got dwellings.
Will the Minister say what the delay is in Coolock?
There is no question of any delay. I was asked for the total number of non-purchase houses.
