I move amendment No. 1:
In page 4, subsection (1), lines 26 to 28, to delete "paid by way of salary to a person at the rate obtaining at the time, or last time (as the case may be), at which he ceased to hold a qualifying office," and to substitute "payable for the time being by way of salary to a member of the Government other than the Taoiseach or (if the person held the office of Taoiseach on the last day on which he held qualifying office) to the Taoiseach,".
Amendment No. 6 may be taken with No. 1.
I move amendment No. 2:
In page 4, subsection (2), lines 49 to 51, to delete paragraph (a) and substitute the following paragraph:
"(a) in relation to a ministerial pension or a secretarial pension, or".
Amendment No. 3 may be taken with No. 2, as they are related amendments.
I move amendment No. 3:
In page 4, subsection (2), lines 55 and 56, to delete "specified in paragraph (a) of this subsection".
I move amendment No. 4:
In page 5, lines 1 and 2, to delete subsection (3).
I move amendment No. 4a:
In subsection (4), page 5, line 3, to delete "and in section 11 of this Act".
I move amendment No. 5:
In page 5, after line 4, to add to the section the following subsection:
"() This section and section 11 of this Act shall come into operation on the date of the passing of this Act".
I move amendment No. 6:
In page 5, subsection (1), lines 13 to 16, to delete "paid by way of salary to a person at the rate obtaining at the time, or the last time (as the case may be), at which he ceased to hold a qualifying office specified in section 3 (2) of this Act," and to substitute "payable for the time being by way of salary to a Parliamentary Secretary".
I move amendment No. 7:
In page 5, lines 31 and 32, to delete subsection (2).
