Vol. 235 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Water Contamination Tests.

66.

asked the Minister for Health if any tests are carried out by Dublin Health Authority at bathing places, such as canals, which people are known to frequent to ascertain the extent of contamination of water in such places; if not, if he will ensure that such tests are introduced; and if he will take appropriate action to deal with any contamination found.

Dublin Health Authority test the water at regular intervals at Dublin beaches but not at such places as the canals.

The canals are not suitable bathing places and I do not consider that I should take any steps to encourage their use as such.

The Minister will agree there are very few alternatives?

Sin ceist eile.
