Vol. 236 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Limerick Industrial Estate Grants.

70.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether the same scale of grants and other incentives which at present apply to new industries at Shannon Industrial Estate will be available for new industries in the proposed industrial estate at Limerick.

The industrial grants and other incentives applicable to new industries established in the Shannon Industrial Estate are those authorised by sections 8 and 9 of the Shannon Free Airport Development Co. Ltd. Act, 1959, and are confined to the furtherance of enterprise at the airport. The range of grant and other incentives to apply to industries located on any additional industrial estates to be established by the Shannon Free Airport Development Co. Ltd. in the Limerick/Clare/North Tipperary region will be those applicable to industries established on industrial estates provided by An Foras Tionscal or by private interests. As the Deputy is aware, I intend to introduce legislation in the near future which will determine the range of industrial incentives.
