Vol. 236 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Mayo Bridge.

21.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware of the very dangerous condition of the bridge across the River Moy at Ballinacurra, Killasser, Swinford, County Mayo; if he has had any correspondence from Mayo County Council on the matter; and if he will make a statement on the up-to-date position.

I was informed in 1965 that this bridge was in a dangerous condition. No proposals have been submitted to my Department by Mayo County Council and there has been no correspondence in recent years with the council in this regard. I understand, however, that the Commissioners of Public Works, who are carrying out the Moy drainage scheme, have been in correspondence with the Mayo County Council in relation to the execution of work affecting the bridge.
