Vol. 236 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dead Meat Subsidy Scheme.

23.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries the total amount paid to date to factories under the dead meat subsidy scheme; and the amount paid to each factory.

In my reply to a question by the Deputy on 1st February last, I gave the total amount paid up to 26th January, 1968. From that date up to 25th October, 1968, a further total amount of £1,513,845 has been paid to 56 licensed meat exporters in respect of eligible carcase beef, mutton and lamb exported to Britain. As indicated in my previous reply, it would not be in accordance with practice to disclose the business of individual exporters by giving the amounts paid to each.
