asked the Minister for Education when a decision is likely to be made on Limerick's claim to a university.

One of the functions of the recently established Higher Education Authority is to maintain a continual review of the country's needs in higher education. There could, therefore, be no question of my pronouncing on the claim of any area for a university without first receiving the views of the Authority, in relation to it.
