Vol. 237 No. 3

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Laois Letter-box.

12.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs on what grounds the cost does not warrant the provision of a letter-box at Ballyadams Cross, Ballylinan, Athy, County Laois, having regard to the great service it would provide to the area; and if he will send an officer of his Department to the area to investigate the necessity for the provision of a letter-box there.

The limited extent to which a letter-box at the place suggested is likely to be used would not warrant the cost of providing the facility. The matter was fully considered and I am satisfied that no purpose would be served by adopting the course suggested in the second part of the question.
