asked the Minister for Justice the average cost per mile of State cars including the cost of driver available to the members of the Government in the 12 months ended 16th October, 1968.
With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 28 and 29 together.
It has not been possible, in the time available, to compile the information in respect of the cost per car for the twelve months ended 16th October, 1968. If the Deputy cares to put down a question in, say, a month's time, I would hope to be in a position to give him particulars.
The average cost per mile for all cars included in the Garda Vote fleet, including the cost of drivers, is reviewed periodically and the cost approved by the Department of Finance for the current year in respect of cars in the ministerial fleet is 1s 11d.
