asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the number of telephones installed in each of the years 1965, 1966, 1967 and 1968; and the average national waiting list for telephones in each of the same four years.

The number of telephones installed in 1965, 1966 and 1967 was 14,500, 13,245 and 19,125 respectively. It is estimated that 21,500 telephones will be installed by the end of this year.

The average national waiting list for the years 1965, 1966, 1967 and 1968 was 13,460, 13,160, 8,745 and 7,620 respectively.
