Vol. 237 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Board for the Employment of the Blind.

126.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare whether he is aware of the recent action of the Board for the Employment of the Blind at the Labour Court; and that the Board proposed to make charges against the Labour Court in a court of law; whether he has consulted the Labour Court on this matter; and whether he proposes to take any action.

The Labour Court have heard the claim on behalf of the employees of the Board for the Employment of the Blind but have not yet made a recommendation. In all the circumstances I think it would be inappropriate for me to make any comment in the matter.

127.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare whether he will reconstitute the Board for the Employment of the Blind.

I would refer the Deputy to the question asked by him on 14th November, 1968, regarding membership of the board and to my reply in which I intimated that the appointment of additional members was being considered.
