Vol. 237 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerry Employment Schemes.

32.

asked the Minister for Local Government the amount of money spent on schemes in County Kerry by the Special Employment Schemes Office during the year ended 31st March 1968; and the sum which he has allocated to Kerry County Council for local improvement schemes for the year ending 31st March 1969.

The amount of money spent in County Kerry on schemes administered by the Special Employment Schemes Section of my Department during the year ended 31st March, 1968, was £40,382, a figure which includes "local contributions" amounting to £3,500 approximately. The allocation to County Kerry under the Local Improvement Scheme for the year ending 31st March, 1969, is £42,000. In addition to this, there will be local contributions, the amount of which cannot be estimated at this stage.

Would the Minister say whether all county councils have accepted their allocations under this scheme to date and whether work is in progress?

That is a separate question.

I have not got details of that.
