Vol. 238 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions Oral Answers. - Delour (Laois) Drainage.

49.

asked the Minister for Finance if money will be made available for the immediate drainage of the River Delour, Coolrain, Camross, County Laois, having regard to the very serious flooding which has taken place in this area as a result of the present state of this river; and if this serious problem will be dealt with as a matter of urgency.

The drainage of this River Nore tributary could be considered by the Commissioners of Public Works only as part of a comprehensive scheme under the Arterial Drainage Act, 1945 for the Nore catchment as a whole. the engineering survey of the catchment is being commenced this Spring with a view to the preparation of a drainage scheme.
