asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will give details of the price increases approved since 1st October 1968; and the commodities and services concerned.
Ceisteanna—Questions Oral Answers. - Price Increases.
I propose, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, to circulate in the Official Report a statement showing, in respect of the period 1st October 1968 to 31st January 1969, increases in prices and charges for commodities and services, of which I have been notified under the Prices Acts and to which I have raised no objection. It does not follow that all these increases were put into operation.
Following is the statement:
STATEMENT showing increases in prices and charges of which the Minister for Industry and Commerce has been notified and to which he raised no objection in the period 1st October, 1968 to 31st January, 1969.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce the number of applications for price increase made to him under the Prices Acts since 6th July, 1966; and the number of these which he has disallowed.
Since the date mentioned, approximately 930 notifications of proposed price increases were received by me under the Prices Acts but of these 165 were later withdrawn or allowed to lapse. Of the balance about 190 were disallowed either completely or partly.
