Vol. 238 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Galway Letter Box.

12.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will consider having a letter box erected at Greaney's, Ballygreaney, Ballymacward, Ballinasloe, County Galway.

There is a letter box within half a mile of the place mentioned. The number of letters posted in the area would not warrant provision of another letter box.

Could the Parliamentary Secretary tell me when that decision was made?

There was never a decision to provide a letter box. It was a question of making a decision not to and the matter did not really arise until the question was asked.

An dtuigeann tú? D'tuigeann tú?

Tuigim. I wrote to the Department and the Department replied saying they were looking into the matter. I got that reply only yesterday. How is it then that the Parliamentary Secretary can come up with that answer today?

That is the essence of despatch.
