Vol. 238 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Telephone Kiosks.

10.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware of the great need for a public telephone kiosk for the growing population of Mervue Estate, Galway; and if he will have the matter fully investigated with a view to the provision of a kiosk there.

The claims of Mervue Estate will be considered when the kiosk programme for the year 1969/70 is being settled.

Can the Minister state when the matter will be finalised?

I think fairly soon.

Can the Minister say why the claims of the Mervue Estate were not considered in the provision of telephone kiosks?

I could not give the Deputy exact information on that. There are so many claims I could not remember them all.

11.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a public telephone kiosk will be provided at Clonshough Estate, Coolock, Dublin.

It is recognised that a telephone kiosk will be required to serve Clonshough Estate, Coolock, and its location will be decided when building development in the area has reached a more advanced stage.
