Vol. 238 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Remuneration of Medical Practitioners.

61.

asked the Minister for Health what proposals his Department made to the medical profession on the Government method of payment to doctors in the new health services; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have made certain proposals to the Irish Medical Association and to the Medical Union in regard to the remuneration of medical practitioners participating in the proposed new scheme for the general medical service. As I expect shortly to be discussing these proposals with representatives of the two bodies concerned, I do not consider it desirable at this stage to make a statement on the matter.
