Vol. 238 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sheep-Dipping Tanks.

22.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries whether he has received proposals from Kerry County Council for the repair and improvement of sheep-dipping tanks in the county; if he will give details of such proposals; and state the present position on the matter.

I have received no such proposals from Kerry County Council.

23.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries whether he is aware that the Tullikeel sheep-dipping tank in Derrybeigh, near Sneem, Kerry, is in a very bad condition and that lambs should not be penned in the vicinity of this tank for inspection under the mountain lamb subsidy scheme; and if he will make arrangements with Kerry County Council to have this tank repaired immediately.

I am informed that the pens at the dipping bath referred to are defective and that Kerry County Council are arranging to have them repaired in time for the first compulsory dipping period this year which will commence on 1st June.
