Vol. 238 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Enniscorthy (Wexford) Sewerage Scheme.

11.

asked the Minister for Local Government when the proposed sewerage scheme for the Saint Senan's area of Enniscorthy, County Wexford will be commenced.

The commencement of this scheme is dependent on the acquisition of a site for a treatment works, negotiations for which are at present proceeding.

Has the Minister any idea how long this scheme will be held up?

The scheme is not being held up. It cannot proceed until the site for the treatment works has been acquired. As soon as that position is reached there should not be any great delay in the scheme going ahead. We cannot have a treatment works without a site for it.
