Vol. 239 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Telephone Account.

5.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs why a telephone subscriber, number 62661, notwithstanding repeated requests by him has not received any account to date in respect of the telephone which was installed for him on 7th August, 1968.

The telephone account was issued to subscriber Dublin 62661 on the 5th March. The delay was attributable mainly to abnormal pressure of work in the Telephone Accounts Sections due to the preparations for and implementation of the revision of telephone charges from 1st January last. The subscriber's requests should nevertheless have been attended to promptly on the basis of the call charge records available at the time. Instead the account was, I regret, held over in order to enable the current account to be included.
