Vol. 239 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Wexford Flooding.

asked the Minister for Local Government if plans have been submitted to him from the Wexford Corporation to deal with flooding in King Street, South Main Street and other areas; and, if so, if he has given sanction to such plans.

I would refer the Deputy to my reply to his previous question of 28th November, 1968, on this matter. No further proposals have since been submitted to my Department.

Is it not a fact that, when the Minister reviewed the position on an earlier occasion, proposals had then been submitted?

Preliminary proposals had been submitted and were approved.

Can the Minister give me any reason as to why this scheme should not go ahead?

It has to be designed and contract documents have to be prepared.
