Vol. 241 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Voluntary Health Insurance.

18.

asked the Minister for Health the number of persons and their dependants now within the scope of voluntary health insurance; and the number of such persons who are also compulsorily insured persons.

The number of persons, including dependants, insured under the Voluntary Health Insurance Scheme was, at a very recent date, 375,000.

Information regarding the number of such persons who are compulsorily insured under the Social Welfare Acts is not available as the Voluntary Health Insurance Board does not require subscribers to indicate whether or not they are insured under that code.

Will the Minister be good enough to give us the recent date on which these figures were compiled?

The 23rd October, 1969.
