Vol. 372 No. 6

Written Answers. - Social Welfare Benefits.

68.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare the social welfare entitlements of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 22; and whether she is entitled to more than £41 per week.

The person concerned is entitled to unemployment assistance at the maximum weekly rate appropriate in her case of £42.65. However, recovery of an earlier overpayment of £97.75, which arose as a result of concurrent claiming of disability and unemployment benefits, is being effected by weekly deductions of £1.65 from her current entitlement. A total of £74.85 has been recovered to date, leaving a balance of £22.90 still to be recovered. When the overpayment has been fully recovered, payment of unemployment assistance at the maximum rate will be resumed.
