Vol. 242 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Traffic Congestion.

24.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he has investigated whether the movement of some of the sections of the Department of Posts and Telegraphs to the shopping centre at Doyle's Corner, Dublin, will aggravate the parking problem in that area and contribute to the traffic congestion in that area; and whether he has taken any action in the matter.

I understand that planning permission for the erection of the office block beside the new shopping centre at Phibsboro was granted by the Dublin Corporation and I assume that in dealing with the application for permission they had regard to all relevant considerations, including the likely effects of the development on traffic conditions in the area. Any issues relating to traffic and parking are for the corporation and the Garda.
