Vol. 242 No. 9

Ceisteann—Questions. Oral Answers. - Repair of County Cork School.

67.

andMr. O'Sullivan asked the Minister for Education if he is aware of the condition of Saint John's national school, Kinsale, County Cork; if it is in urgent need of repair and reconstruction; and what proposals he has for the immediate repair and reconstruction of the school.

I am advised that St. John's boys national school, by reason of its age, is not up to modern standards, although improvements, including the provision of flush toilets, suitable heating and electric light, have been carried out at the school in recent years.

I have asked for a report from the Commissioners of Public Works on the feasibility of bringing the present building up to a suitable standard by means of a further scheme of improvements.
