asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries when the farmers in County Laois can expect payment of the subsidies under the Beef Cattle Incentive Scheme.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries when the farmers in County Offaly can expect payment of the subsidies under the Beef Cattle Incentive Scheme.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 13 and 14 together.

I expect that payment of grants under this scheme will be made to eligible herdowners in Counties Laois and Offaly during the month of January.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries (a) the amount of applications received under the Beef Cattle Incentive Scheme and (b) the number of grants paid.

The total number of applications received under this scheme to date is 40,500. So far 49,247 grants of £12 each have been paid to 16,874 herdowners.
