asked the Minister for Transport and Power (a) the share capital, (b) the loan capital, (c) the net profit before taxation, (d) the total wages and salaries paid, (e) the number of employees and (f) the value of exports, in respect of each State-sponsored trading body for which he is responsible for each of the last two years for which the information is available.

The information is in the form of a tabular statement which, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to circulate in the Official Report.

NOTES:—

(i) These figures are arrived at after deducting depreciation and interest payments from operating profits.

(ii) Represent revenue from tickets sold abroad.

(iii) Surplus on operating account at Dublin Airport.

(iv) Represent net deficits excluding annual subsidy of £2m.

(v) (a) High Season.

(b) Low Season.

(vi) Estimated revenue from foreign visitors.

(vii) This shows the position before deduction of stock issue expenses of £220,424. There were no such expenses in 1968/69.

(viii) Interest on loan capital in 1967/68 was £1,436,627, of which interest on loan capital advanced by the State amounting to £1,275, 025 was waived under the Turf Devlp Act, 1968. Corresponding figures for 1968/69 were £1,405,522 and £1,252,819.

(ix) Net external earnings.

(x) Financial year ends on 31 December.
