Vol. 243 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Galway Electricity Supply.

42.

asked the Minister for Transport and Power if he is aware of a shortage of power at Dunmore and Headford, County Galway; and if he will take the necessary steps to remedy the situation.

I have been informed by the ESB that they hope to have the necessary mains improvements work at Dunmore completed before Christmas. Mains improvements are under consideration for Headford.

Would it be possible to carry out the improvements in the Headford area simultaneously with those to be carried out at Dunmore?

No, there is the problem of the wayleave permission and this has to be ironed out before Headford can go ahead.

Will the Minister ensure that this is carried out as soon as possible?

Arrangements have already been made by the Minister for Transport and Power.
