Vol. 243 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - FCA Officers' Retiring Age.

108.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will consider the extension of the age limit for the retirement of senior FCA officers as many very efficient officers are now due for retirement.

The ages at which senior FCA officers relinquish their commissions are at least as high, and, in the great majority of cases, higher than the retiring ages for similar officers of the permanent Defence Force. It would not be in the best interests of the service to further extend these ages.
