Vol. 243 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Christmas Greeting Cards.

109.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will state (a) for himself and (b) for his Parliamentary Secretary the cost of officially provided Christmas greeting cards sent in 1968; if the postage was provided free by his Department and, if so, the cost in each case; if he can give an estimate of cards on order for this year under each heading; and if the cards will be sent post free.

The cost of Christmas greeting cards officially provided for the Minister for Defence in 1968 was £20, and the cost of postage, which was provided free, was approximately £8 10s. This year the cost of the cards on order is estimated at £38 15s and postage will be provided free.

Christmas greeting cards for the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Defence were not provided or posted by my Department in 1968 nor are they being provided or posted by my Department this year.
