Vol. 245 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Malting Barley Prices.

10.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if he is aware of the price difference for malting barly paid by firms (names supplied) and if he is in a position to ensure maximum prices to all suppliers of malting barley of acceptable quality.

I am aware that there are differences in the prices for malting barley by the various industrial users. These prices are, however, negotiated directly between these users or their agents and the growers' representatives. I do not propose to intervene in this arrangement.
