asked the Minister for Local Government if he will take steps to have the voting age lowered from 21 years to 18 years for local elections.

No decision has been taken on the question of introducing legislation to reduce the voting age at local elections.

Will the Minister consider this matter before the next local elections in 1972?

It may be considered before that time.
