Vol. 245 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Overcrowded Dwellings.

10.

asked the Minister for Local Government the total number of complaints received by his Department in 1969 from or on behalf of persons living in overcrowded conditions as defined in Section 63 of the Housing Act, 1966; and how many were received by local authorities in the same period and dealt with.

Complaints which are received by my Department in regard to persons living in overcrowded conditions are dealt with on an individual basis according as they are received and no record is kept of the number of such complaints. Their number is, however, very small.

Information is not submitted to my Department by housing authorities of the number of complaints regarding overcrowding received and dealt with by them.
