Vol. 245 No. 11

Financial Resolutions. - Financial Resolution No. 3: General.

I move:

That it is expedient to amend the law relating to customs and inland revenue (including excise) and to make further provision in connection with finance.

I never thought I would live to see the day when the Members of the Labour Party would vote against the increases for widows and orphans.

There is a socialist party—voting against the increases for the widows and orphans.

Go back to Bunratty Castle.

(Interruptions.)

Financial Resolution No. 3 will be discussed tomorrow and Fine Gael can justify their consciences in voting against the increase for widows and orphans.

What about the £100 the Taoiseach took? Can he justify his conscience on that? Honest Jack, how are you. The Taoiseach took £100 on the platform at Mullingar. Let him examine his own conscience. Nobody should accept money from anyone on a political platform. Honest Jack, how are you.
