With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to circulate in the Official Report a statement showing the quantities of footwear manufactured by establishments in the boot and shoe (wholesale factories) industry in the years 1968 and 1969 and in the two months period January-February, 1970—latest at present available. Separate particulars for moulded footwear are not sought in the returns obtained from the manufacturers.

asked the Taoiseach the imports of footwear for 1967, 1968, 1969 and the first quarter of 1970, indicating the type of footwear involved, distinguishing in particular between leather and plastic footwear, ladies', gent's and children's footwear and bootees and sandals, and indicating also the country of origin, the volume, the total value in each category and the value per pair.
