Vol. 246 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - AnCO Grants.

26.

asked the Minister for Labour how many firms are contributing to AnCO.

27.

asked the Minister for Labour how many firms have received grants from AnCO; how many have defaulted when levy was made on them; what are the total arrears due by firms; how many court cases are pending for those who have defaulted; what contributions towards buildings and salaries have been received from firms; and what percentage of the overall cost is borne by the taxpayer.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 26 and 27 together.

Levy-grant schemes have not yet been introduced under the Industrial Training Act. Consequently, no firms have yet been asked to contribute to AnCO nor are any firms receiving training grants from the organisation. Technical assistance grants are being paid by AnCO, however, for training courses for managerial and supervisory personnel.
