Vol. 247 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Water Supply Schemes.

19.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether any proposals are before his Department for improving the water supply to Kilsheelan village and locality, County Tipperary.

No immediate proposals for the improvement of the Kilsheelan water supply are before my Department. I understood, however, that the county council intend that this work will be carried out as part of the ultimate development of the Clonmel regional water supply scheme.

20.

asked the Minister for Local Government when money will be made available for the installation of water supplies in the Cape Clear and Sherkin islands.

I have approved the county council's proposals for borehole investigations to establish a source for a water supply for Clear Island. The council were informed that this work would qualify for loan and subsidy. There are no proposals before my Department for the installation of a water supply scheme in Sherkin island.
