Littleton station was closed on 29th May, 1970. The Commissioner, Garda Síochána, advised that it could be closed without loss of police efficiency in the area.
As part of the general review of the distribution of the force which is now in progress, future arrangements for the policing of the South Tipperary-West Waterford region are being examined by the Commissioner, with the help of the Garda research and planning unit, but at this stage I can give no indication of the outcome.
