Vol. 248 No. 12

Horse Industry Bill, 1970: Fifth Stage.

Question proposed: "That the Bill do now pass."

I asked the Minister earlier if any invitation had been issued. Am I in order in raising the point now?

Acting Chairman

The Deputy got the reply to that.

He was asked to wait until this Stage.

Acting Chairman

If the Deputy wishes to elaborate he can do so.

Punchestown Horse Trials are to be held in September and the committee in charge of these trials is set out and one of the bodies represented on the committee is a body called the "Irish Horse Board". The board has not yet come into existence and that is why I raised the matter with the Minister.

I have no knowledge of that.

I raised the question as to why there was not provision for remuneration on the Second Stage.

We had that out on Committee Stage. The Deputy was not here.

The grapevine must have gone wrong.

Question put and agreed to.
