My Department has conveyed approval to Waterford Health Authority for the provision by the authority of a maternity unit at Dungarvan. The question of where the unit should be located is the subject of correspondence between my Department and the health authority. A further letter on this aspect of the matter has now issued from my Department and will, I understand, be considered at the next meeting of the health authority.
