Vol. 249 No. 11

Ceisteanna — Questions Oral Answers. - Sandymount (Dublin) Strand.

74.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he has received any requests that Sandymount Strand, Dublin, be declared a special amenity area; and, if so, if any decision has been made in the matter.

This is a matter for Dublin Corporation. I understand that in their draft development plan they have included an objective for the reservation of Sandymount Strand as an area of high amenity and have declared their intention to consider making a special amenity area order in respect of it.

I notice from the Minister's reply to that question that he was able to obtain all the information required by the Deputy without any trouble whatsoever. Why can he not do the same in all other cases?

The draft development plan is available in the Department.

Does the Minister not agree that it took up the time of his officials? What is the difference in obtaining the information in this case and in my case?

I have offered to the Deputy any information that is available in my Department.
