Vol. 250 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Leitrim Dispensary Doctor.

10.

asked the Minister for Health if he is aware of the need for a dispensary doctor in Drumkeerin, County Leitrim; and if any arrangements have been made for such an appointment.

A competition conducted recently by the Local Appointments Commission was unsuccessful in filling the post of permanent district medical officer for Drumkeeran dispensary district. I understand that the temporary arrangement for the provision of a service for eligible persons in the district by a district medical officer of an adjoining dispensary district is satisfactory and of long standing.

Would the Minister say if this was widely advertised?

It was advertised in the usual way by the Local Appointments Commission.

What media was this advertised in?

I am afraid I do not know.
