asked the Minister for Local Government if he will give the list of proposals for local authority housing, from County Meath in the past six months; and what stage each proposal has reached.

As the reply is in the form of a tabular statement I propose with your permission a Cheann Comhairle, to circulate it with the Official Report.

Following is a statement of the proposals received:—

Proposals for the Acceptance of Tenders

Present Position

Meath County Council:

Ashbourne Housing Scheme

Tender for the provision of 20 houses and the development of 19 private sites was approved on 14th December, 1970.

Slane No. 2 Housing Scheme

Tender for the provision of 20 further houses at Slane was approved on 15th October, 1970.

Dunederry Housing Scheme

Tender for the provision of 12 houses at Dunderry was approved on 8th January, 1971.

Summerhill Housing Scheme

A tender for the provision of 5 houses at Summerhill was sanctioned on 21st May, 1970. As the contractor whose tender was sanctioned is unable to commence work for some time, Meath County Council have submitted a proposal for the acceptance of an alternative tender. This proposal is under consideration.

Trim Urban District Council:

Navan Gate Housing Scheme

Tender for the provision of 20 houses at Navan Gate, Trim was approved on 5th October, 1970.

Plans Submitted

Present Position

Meath County Council:

Batterstown Housing Scheme(18 houses).

Plans and layout for this scheme were approved on the 13th October, 1970.

Donore Housing Scheme(40 houses).

Further information to enable examination of the proposal to proceed is awaited from the housing authority.
