Vol. 251 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Fit Person Orders.

51.

asked the Minister for Justice the number of children in the Metropolitan Children's Court who have been given the benefit of a fit person order in each of the past two years; and if he will give details of these, indicating how many fit persons were private individuals.

No fit person orders were made by the Metropolitan District Court in the past two years.

This is a matter for the Metropolitan District Court. I do not interfere with the workings of the court which is judicially and constitutionally independent of the Executive.

That is a laugh.
