Vol. 251 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Pay and Allowances of FCA Member.

59.

asked the Minister for Defence why a member of the FCA who, while on a course of training received an injury requiring hospitalisation over a period of approximately five weeks, did not receive any pay or allowances while undergoing treatment in hospital.

A member of the FCA admitted to a military hospital in the circumstances indicated in the question would be maintained as a free patient. Under Defence Force Regulations, pay and allowances would not be issuable in respect of any period subsequent to the completion of the course of training.
