asked the Minister for Local Government the total number of persons granted relief from rates by Dublin Corporation, Dublin County Council and Dún Laoghaire Borough Corporation under the scheme for waiver of county rates in 1970-71.

As examination of applications received in respect of the current financial year has not yet been completed by the local authorities concerned the information requested is not available. The numbers of persons who were granted relief of rates in respect of 1969-70 were as follows:

asked the Minister for Local Government the number of applications received by Dublin Corporation in 1969-70 and 1970-71 for waiver of rates; the number of refusals; and the basis on which such waivers have been granted.

In 1969-70, the number of applications for waiver of rates received by the Dublin Corporation was 3,620 and the number refused was 2,171. Corresponding figures for 1970-71 are not available. Applications for waiver of rates are determined by the local authority in accordance with the terms of their scheme.
