asked the Minister for Local Government the reasons given by the British Government why they are not as yet prepared to enter into negotiations for a reciprocal agreement between the Governments for the common recognition of driving licences.

The note delivered to the Department of External Affairs containing the British Government's decision in this matter did not give the reasons for that decision.
