asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state for each of the last five years (a) the total amount in the Road Fund; (b) the amount of borrowing from the Fund; and (c) the amounts made available and applied to road authorities for (i) reconstruction and repair of roads, and (ii) other purposes, giving details.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Road Fund.
As the reply is in the form of a tabular statement, I propose with the permission of the Leas-Cheann Comhairle, to circulate it with the Official Report.

Payments for other purposes are made up mainly of—administrative expenses of Department of Local Government, local authority expenses of collection, Garda Síochána administrative expenses, road safety expenses and payments to An Foras Forbartha.
The figures in the last two columns do not add up to the amounts shown in the second column because in each financial year there are small opening and closing balances in the Road Fund.
