Vol. 251 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerry School.

35.

asked the Minister for Education the present position regarding (a) the provision of additional accommodation for the pupils attending Fossa national school, County Kerry and (b) the proposed appointment of an additional teacher in this school.

My Department has agreed in principle to the provision of permanent additional accommodation at Fossa national school. As some time will elapse before this accommodation can be made available and as the appointment of a fourth teacher is now warranted, a grant has been allowed towards the cost of renovating the old Fossa school so as to make it suitable for use by the extra teacher and her classes. When these works have been completed, the appointment of the extra teacher will be sanctioned.
